We knew lockdown would change our lives.
That this time was given to reassess, to decide what we want for ourselves moving forward.
We've known for so long that 'things' are pulling us away:
from each other, from knowing our True Self, from real connection.
What we didn't know, and what may still feel out of reach, is:
HOW TO CREATE CHANGE?
The threat of Covid-19 is doing wonders for humanity. We have seen over the past few months how, in an instant, we can all pull together to make massive life shifts for the sake of ourselves, and the welfare of others.
We have also seen that, whether you like it or not, whether you agree with it or not, we all play a part in larger socio-political forces that keep us in line - sometimes for better, often for worse.
The narratives are clear and obvious, and voices of dissent are getting louder. Are you one of them?
We have learned very quickly that even as we thought we were embodying principles of compassion and inclusivity, quietly adhering to our own beliefs, not trying to impose them on others - we have been doing ourselves, and this world, a great disservice.
There is no more time to hide the courage needed to express what is truly desired:
A WORLD WHERE ALL BEINGS ARE FREE AND PROVIDED FOR.
Although we may all agree on such a sentiment. There are many ways in which our actions do not support movement towards this ideal.
Yes, at this point in time, these are still ideals.
Although we have knowledge and tools available to us to create this vision, we do not always exercise our abilities to make it happen.
With every passing generation, we must revive the efforts needed to create and sustain positive evolution towards this ideal - or, die trying.
If you've been playing small, itβs time to get BIG.
If you've kept quiet so as not to offend, SHARE your beliefs.
This is NOT about fighting with one another about opinions,
but it IS about learning through discussion.
This is about doing what is NEEDED for the BENEFIT OF ALL.
Before lockdown living emerged, those in vulnerable positions struggled for shelter, food, healthcare, and companionship.
Have you found this time an opportunity to be helpful to those in need?
Before lockdown, contentment came by filling shopping bags with items, and neglecting to leave/make donations for those who go without.
Do you find yourself more grateful for the house, clothing, and food, and personal connections you have? Do you have enough?
Before lockdown, there *was* the issue of survival of humans due to pollution, toxicity of food and water systems, and the declared Climate Emergency.
Are you aware that the Climate Emergency still exists?
Before lockdown, choosing to eat animals or not was a popular question of health, tradition, or beliefs.
Do you find your health, traditions, and beliefs in question yet?
Is your life, race, creed, career, health, happiness, destiny - more important than someone else's?
It feels like there is no easy way around the tough subjects now, but we are staying committed to the path of Self Realisation. We know that yogic principles have been leading the way for human, animal, and environmental rights for generations. Our only home is in this body, on this Earth - with the destruction of either, we die mercilessly, with no commemoration for our efforts.
May we stay open to ideas that challenge our traditions.
May we recognise where we can make effective change.
May we place value on human, animal, and plant life to save us all.
BE THE CHANGE
