VINYASA YOGA
What is Vinyasa?
Vinyasa refers to a set of movements and postures that can be repeated to build a rhythmic sequence. Vinyasa is often a more energetic style of yoga, although the energy can range from more smooth and fluid to more active intensity. Vinyasa is a variable practice, which doesn’t rely on strict sequences being repeated every class, but instead is more of a moving meditation created by the flow of breath and movement.
Why do Vinyasa?
Vinyasa is a perfect practice for those who like things a little more dynamic, or a bit more active. Even if you don’t have a particularly high level of physical fitness, if you have a very active mind, you will find vinyasa a great way of calming racing thoughts. In vinyasa, you create heat and ‘shake yourself up’ in order to create the conditions for relaxation. It improves cardiovascular fitness and generates a greater range of mobility with a focus on establishing rhythmic breathing.
What to wear/bring:
It is best to wear leggings and a vest top, or shorts and a t-shirt. You can bring your yoga mat (if you have one) and a water bottle. You can also bring a towel to use if you would like to take a shower here after class. We have mats and towels to hire for £1 each if needed.
